Frequently Asked Questions by Clients

  • Do you administer medicines, too?

We are always happy to try to give medications to your pets. We are not specially trained vet techs, but we are caring animal-lovers and we have experienced the administration of any number of pills, liquids, inhalers, eye drops, ear drops, and bandage changes.

  • What happens if it’s 100° outside or there is a blizzard?

Safety is paramount, both for our team member and for our furry friends! In times of extreme weather, we shorten the regular length of dog walks & provide water or warmth to our charges. For our cat clients, we adjust A/C or heating temperatures to ensure the cat’s comfort. During blizzards, we may advance / delay the timing of daily visits based on safety conditions for our team.

  • I live in the Fenway neighborhood, which is really close to Back Bay. Can I still use your company?

Our team works entirely on foot, so we must adhere to our service boundaries in order to provide outstanding, timely visits to our clients. We walk dogs and feed cats in the Back Bay & Beacon Hill, and we also feed cats in the South End & West End.

  • I’m in town visiting Boston for the day, can you walk my dog or stay at my hotel room while I’m gone?

Since we are such a small company, our commitment is to our regular clientele, and we are unable to accommodate one-time requests for walks, visits, or housesitting.

  • Do you work on holidays, too?

All regularly scheduled dog walks are canceled on major holidays.

All cat visits during holiday weekends require advance booking and carry a $5 holiday surcharge to reward our team members who volunteer to work. Thank you!

  • What overnight services do you offer?

Our in-home pet-sitting service is the perfect answer for clients who want their dog to maintain normal routines and surroundings.  Your pet-sitter will give your dog 4-5 walks per day, including early morning and late night walks.  Your dog will be happy but tired upon your return!  We will also safeguard your home by bringing in mail and papers as well as rotating lights and blinds.

  • Do you offer training?

No, however most of our clients find that a dog with stubborn walking habits will benefit greatly from the socialization of a group dog walk, especially with the same buddies and handler each day.

  • What will happen during my registration visit?

During your initial registration, owner Jennifer North will meet with you and your pet, giving you a chance to look through our extensive reference book, ask questions, establish your pet-care schedule, review our pet-care contract, and demonstrate your pet’s  medications or other important habits.  Jennifer will be busy getting to know your pet and will begin evaluating which pet-sitter will be best for both you and your pet’s needs.  At this time, we will usually accept a copy of your keys.
